Welcome to BC

Known as Super Natural British Columbia, BC is known the world over for its vast tracks of unspoiled wilderness. It is surrounded by land on three sides (Alaska and the Yukon to the north, Alberta to the east, and Washington and Idaho to the south), as well as over 1000 km. of spectacular coast line on the west side of the province. Vancouver is the largest city in BC and the third largest city in Canada. The almost 2 million inhabitants of the Greater Vancouver area are multicultural, and come from more than 60 cultural groups.

BC is famous for it's indigenous peoples art, pacific salmon, skiing, hiking and wide range of climates. South western BC is a favorite destination for many Canadians on vacation, while northern BC is one of North America's premier destinations for mountian climbers and wilderness adventurers.

Major industries include tourism, lumber and paper products, shipbuilding, food processing, fish processing, and metal product manufacturing. A superport at Roberts Bank in the Greater Vancouver Area, 40 km to the south, is used for exporting coal and ore to Japan. As well BC has a thriving arts community, including being one of the top locations in North America for shooting big budget movies.
